Munbe Vaa...

This song is one of Rahman's best and that has fetched Shreya G the filmfare award which i had predicted to my friends (previously i have predicted successfully for thangathamarai (minsara kanavu) for SPB and (Engey Enathu Kavithai for Chitra).

I have listening to the inaugral piece on santoor which Rahman used beautifully after Roja. Though I have listened to this few hundred times, i was hooked to this one for a different reason. "Valiba Kavignar Vaali" has come out with wonderful and mesmerising lyrics particularly the charanams, which i have posted here.

I had read this poem after watching Hey Ram and forgot to capture the beauty of the lyrics written by Jibonanda Das, probably mesmerised by the piano recital composed by Illayaraja (I am not sure whether it was stephen devasi who played the piece for IRaja - Nee partha paravaikku or Nandri...) Thanks to Geeman for tagging me and hailing me as a musical connoiseur. I have been planning to write an blog on music for a very long time and this was just a start from my favourites. Absolutely stunned by the philosophical and lyrical beauty of the song.....illaiyaraja once again proves why he alone can deliver such a song with substance.
